Tip for spring jackets:
Do you have a button down coat that’s a bit snug, and pulls when you button it closed? Instead of keeping it in your closet or wearing it open, take a needle, thread, scissors, and a ruler, and move the buttons closer to the center front seam to give you more room to breathe!
Most coats have an extra 1-2 inches of fabric that you could move the buttons over, making the jacket have the little extra give you need!
Don’t know how to sew?! Ask a friend to teach you how to thread a needle and teach yourself this simple trick! Don’t forget to measure with a ruler so that the buttons match up again to the button holes!!!
WOO HOO! Now get outside and enjoy the day!
Happy Spring Everyone!!!!!!!!!

OH! AND THE PICTURE IS OF ME AND MY LOVE PERFORMING A DOPPLEGANGER SHOW/DANCE FOR MISS FIREFLY COMPETITION THIS PAST SUMMER—- he dressed as an old lady pretending to be myself and the other half of Miss Firefly 2009. We dressed like old ladies too and came out singing “thank you for being my friend” from the Golden Girls….it’s on youtube if you are REALLLLY that interested in seeing it….. :)
Have clothes that fit you strange? Or that you never wear, but won’t get rid of?
Make it better!
Being someone who doesn’t like being wasteful, nor do I have the wallet for buying new—- I’ve become more inventive/creative with my wardrobe. First— I’ve stopped buying new. Fact: There are already more clothes produced in the world, that we can give GIGANNNNTTIIICCCC wardrobes to each and EVERY person in the entire world! Can you believe we continue to manufacture clothing ? What’s worse—- to combat the decline in economy, new fiber/textiles have been created in replacement of natural ones— which now make the clothes you find in Forever21 or H&M cheaper (no not yay), but cannot biodegrade and fill landfills!!! What the heck is happening?!?! Enough politics for now, but just remember that instead of buying something new next time—- look in your closet to see if you can make something new outta something old.

A small blurb from her blog:
“After going from confident to unsure to amused to frightened about 2012, I finally read something that made sense. In Pam Montgomery’s Plant Spirit Healing she discusses the many indigenous cultures who have found significance around the year 2012. But instead of total Earth destruction, they see it as the beginning of a new Earth. “A paradigm shift” to appropriately quote Pam. A time when humans will be drawn back to the Earth for guidance and learn to love and care for her as our Ancestors did.”
Suicidal Battery!!
I woke up, walked right by him and did a double take——- what kind of message does this battery have to say? He leans against the drawer’s handle, looking so at ease with itself—- but there must be a reason he is standing up there in the first place to jump!
4 drawers high, with hungry dog slippers waiting to gobble him up once he falls……
will he survive? or will his battery acid be leaked out from not being used?
I plan on going on with my day, to see if he will break from his suicidal mood and hop back into my flashlight where he belongs.
Till next time….
hehehe Eric! Where did you find this?! This is how I felt this morning when John was getting up for work and I was getting ready for bed….except this has more Mona Lisa.

Frankenstein purses!!!
I am giving old purses a new life— and purpose! These are creations I have made using pieces of two purses— creating unique looks that you can make too!!! Below are small descriptions of each——
Pic 1: Learned something from Valentino—- your purses have dirty insides!
Pic 2: Steam punk belt/tie thingy from purse— I added gold grommets, and ribbon for closure. It can be worn 100 different ways — the ribbon is very long!
Pic 3: Bustle purse skirt! Back view. Made from handle of a purse— which makes the yoke or waistband. Had to hammer the large gold grommets to make it fit around a body! Please note the green satin material— it is an ombre— so the coloring changes as you twirl!
Pic 4: side view of bustle skirt
Pic 5: Made with part of a purse, black tassel fringe, a button I cut the shank off to make it flat, white, brown/orange, blue feathers, anddddd glow in the dark green paint around the button! I got carried away with this one.
Pic 6: Used the flap from the purse I used for the rest of these designs— made it into my version of a fanny pack. I cut a hole in the top of the purse, added the pocket from Valentino’s “dirty purse” (the pocket was clean!) and added ribbons to tie it around wherever/however the heck you’d like.
Look for these one of a kind designs in my etsy shop—- should be up in a few days!
